OK here is the deal..............
To get rid of those ads at the top of the page, that seem to make the pages load slowwwwwwwwwwwww for some is as follows..........
It is 7 bucks a month, so this is what I did...........
We will try it for 30 days on Gomers dime, and if we like it I will set it up on a perminant basis, on the ancient ones dime.
So those of you that had a slow load time let me know if this helps. It may be due to this, or it may be due to the number of threads, or pics on the board.
If NO differance is noticed we will forget it and keep the ads, or we can discuss it at the winter meeting and decide then.
Whatever we decide works for me.
Just trying to make EVERYONES use of the message board, and the Cave a little easier and faster.

Gomer, IT DOES MAKE A DIFERANCE, THANKS!
Another hint for those on a slow connection: Go to your profile, then click on "Modify profile". Scroll down until you see the option to not show avatars. Tell it not to display. This will mean that you don't see those personal pictures under peoples names, but the pages will load much faster.

the only people getting anything from adds is the board host. the free version of the forums makes its money by having adds on there. the people who have the adds pay the forum host and thats how they get money and let people have free forums. to not have a forum with adds, ya gotta pay, because otherwise, the forum host wont make any money on a free board with no adds.  |

lol. no, if hes crazy enough to run the board and the homepage, than he deserves the harassment of it! lol. there is some fun to running these pages though. when i use to run the pages for the widowmakers, i loved playing around with makeing new pages and makeing sure there was no spammers. it was like creatively playing god. lol. i got done running their pages than goodnes.. but now im slowly getting back into runing them again for the PLR club and building dad's rendezvous' page.

I meant to mention a few things about the board at the meeting but.........I spaced it. Oh well hence the name GOMER.
