I would also like to thank A/O's that helped make the NE a success. Without you and some cash from our til it would not have happened. Les Page is at the top of the list along with Al Hennesey our Canadian friend! I made lots of new friends, running a walk will do that, Tim Douglas can attest to that. Thank God for the Penobscot river!Jo lyn brought friends from Florida and one was a singer, we were entertained most nights. We had eagles pass overhead daily and the space shuttle came to call twice. The lobster feed was better than expected due to a mistake. They had run out of soft shell lobsters, I had already paid so we got hard shell bugs instead. I had an 8 dollar per person budget and I came in under that. The left over lobsters,31 went into a seafood chowder at Les's camp for everyone. I will let you in on a secret, we are thinking about doing our own huge event in 2020. Who is onboard? Thanks Nit Wit

I will second Ray in thanking all who helped out. The well run walks were a highlight. I'll give credit to all who helped with the efficient supply of ice, firewood, trash pickup and there were decent Hooters, well serviced. If only Gomer had followed "The Book". ********** here follows the grin and snort. Talk about doing a great job in the presence of bullsh!t.
Saw the Barlows today, he thought it a great idea for the crew to put on an independent one and started to reel off fun events and ideas. "Maybe I could come out of retirement"
Even Jack and Squirrel seemed glad to see me.

I stayed away for my own reasons which most of you understand. But I am still glad to hear that the die hards pulled it off, despite the 'official' obstacles. I have long advocated for the A/O's to do a large event on their own---IF they had the manpower and the determination. If this northeastern helped to spark the fire, then you you can count me in as a supporter for a 2020 A/O event!
