Picked this knife up from John H, yesterday... Think both John and Hillbilly had a hand making her. Only thing lacking was a sheath... It has a unusual shape and the sheath needed to work with a sash. I have been learning different leather hardening techniques and wanted to give this a try. Made the sheath, stained it, and heated it up to 200 degrees and wax formed/hardened the leather. The sheath is rigid and retains the knife tightly...

Yup, that looks like one of mine. The only 'hand' that John had in it was the hand that traded me out of it.... Glad to see that she now has a nice sheath!

Looks great. That is a cool technique.
What's that white stuff is the background? Byproduct of the process?
It was in the 70's this weekend here and I was sweating pretty fearful.

Yah, Uncle Sam's School for Wayward Boys........ And as for who is new.... There may be a few out there reading this that don't know that you are actually college edumacated.......
But even you should know that "Sabbatical" isn't Latin for 'decade'.....it's Greek for 'where the hell did the time go?'
"The Ancient Ones....We ain't just another pretty face!" ;D

I hear ya. All of the sudden I woke up and I was 40. But its like this. I was telling my buddy bill who was with me when I shot that buck. Actually when the knife pic was taken you can tell im having a deep moment. Bill who is a little older than me was talking about how many times we went up that mountain in 2 days. I said "Bill, We are kinda like this buck. He is an old deer and he knows he only has one or two winters left. He knows there are young bucks waiting for him to go. But for now he figured its going to be one hell of a RUT. And if you have to go,go out on top. ON TOP OF THAT HAREM OF DOES THAT FLEW OUT THAT FLEW OUT THAT LAUREL WE HE BUSTED OUT OF IT. Im not dead yet. ;D The reaper has tried twice, someday he'll win but not this rut

You got it, Shine. Time waits for no man [or deer]. I'm a slow learner.....but I've learned that we might as well live it today, because there is no telling what tomorrow brings.......

When you consider the many hundreds of knives that I turned out, [Could have been a thousand or more if you consider that at one time I was turning out throwing knives for Barlow several dozen at a time....], it is amazingly hard to find any of them these days........
Hopefully that means that the market is no longer saturated, and my next batch will sell quickly. I need the money................
