Hillbilly: You want to let bp revolvers shoot too? Might get a couple more shooters, I don't have a problem with it. NW

The colt patterson is pre 1840. 1836 I belive. I think if we allow revolvers. only one chamber may be loaded.

Patterson Colt repros and any other type of revolver or pistol that you can document to have been in use before 1840 are fine with the Range Officer. No Civil War or Cowboy crap. There are enough period correct pistols floating around that anyone who really wants to shoot will be able to.
Also, like Shine said, if you bring a revolver, only one chamber may be loaded. We have a rule about no primed guns between stations, and 95 percent or more of chain fires in a revolver are actually caused by fire entering an uncapped, or loosely capped, nipple....[that fire ain't getting around a tight lead ball...grease or no grease...] So, Range Officer's call, one chamber only if you want to bring a period correct revolver..

If that's the case, gonna limit it pretty much to Patterson's then which most folks don't have. Even Walkers and dragoons are late 1840's revolvers.

This is a pre-1840 event. We should at least make the attempt. When we run an 'any muzzleloader shoot' to encourage participation, no one bothers to show up with an 'any' muzzleloader...... We don't allow Sharps and plastic inlines just to get more participation at Rendezvous.......No reason to start in with late model pistols. There are plenty of pistols around, if someone really wants to shoot.

Renee, You're welcome to try and beat me with my own pistol again. It shoots straight as you probably recall. I'll bring some extra powder and shot for it just in case. If you want to look elsewhere for a better deal I'll understand. (sniff sniff) ;D

Jeff- If you don't mind getting beaten by a gal with your own gun again, I don't mind using it
